Happy Pride 2010, but Maybe Not for Transgender People

The Gay and Lesbian Community has a bastard stepchild that it slaps around called the Transgender community. Even though the transgender community is largely responsible for The Stonewall riots which gave birth to gay liberation, the transgender community remains till today the punchline of the joke and the mascot not allowed to evolve.

In 1969 transgender people were vastly misunderstood. Often labeled as mentally ill, transgender people had nothing to lose when throwing the first beer bottles at the police. Homosexuals could retract back into the closet and re assimilate, while transsexuals and gender variant people could not so easily blend in.

The word transgender is a political umbrella term that encompasses a mixed variety of gender variant people including transsexuals or those who believe that they were born in the wrong bodies, drag queens who are performers, straight and gay cross dressers, what was termed in old fashion language as transvestites (meaning dressing as the opposite gender.

The highly marketable pre-op transsexual prostitutes who have adopted the pornographic term She-males. Also included under the transgender umbrella are people who appear sexually ambiguous i.e.: effeminate appearing men and butch appearing women. Transgender is a highly lucrative incentive when it comes to applying for financial grants, hence transgender people are an auspicious inclusion to the gay and lesbian rights family. Many reported statistics concerning violence towards gay men inclusive of crimes committed towards M2F transgender individuals.

The other side is that many people are born inter-sexed or gender ambiguous for reasons of chromosomal anomalies have ambiguous genitalia. Inter-sexed people are born with this medical condition though nowadays there is more enlightenment about how to treat babies born inter-sexed or gender ambiguous.

In the 1950's a protocol was adopted to streamline the gender of such infants based upon the presence of a phallus or lack thereof. With modern technology the complexities of inter-sexed children can be diagnosed more properly to determine if the are internal male or female reproductive organs or other deformities and most intersexed infants are not born with perfectly functioning genitals. Intersexed people are also included in the mixed bag called Transgender.

The political term of transgender gets very confusing because a cross dresser who dresses for erotic thrills is different from a drag queen or drag king dressing for performances and impersonating women or men.The same can be said for a transsexual who is attempting to change their body in order to be who their mind tells them they really are inside. Modern science is proving that transsexuals are born feeling as though they are placed within the wrong body or have been designated in the wrong anatomical gender.

Most transsexuals are not this way for camp reasons, erotic thrills or to be comical, they are simply displaced within the wrong bodies and desperate to get sorted out to move on with their lives. Nowadays there is such emphasis upon transgender people standing up and being counted.

The gay marriage equality issue has drawn many transsexuals into the spotlight because in many states transsexuals can have surgery, apply for new birth certificates, change legal gender and then legally marry members of the opposite legal sex. The attitude is if a transsexual can marry legally and they were once considered a member of the opposite sex and genetically male or female, then isn't this same sex marriage? Experts will argue that gender identity and life as a man or woman has nothing to do with sexual preference. That said a person can be a male to female transsexual and still be a lesbian, or a female to male transsexual and sill be a gay man.

Many transsexual people are often professionals, intellects and everyday people not looking to be confused by lurid misconceptions of who transsexuals are. Transsexuals definitely do not want to be confused as drag queens, cross dressers, transvestites or fetishists. Unfortunately every community has its own agenda. The gay and lesbian community are not always the most enlightened about the vast differences within the transgender community and often mock transgender people as oddities, pathetic, misled people, mascots and caricatures.

The old fag-dyke oversimplifications of transgender people is that transgender people are embarrassments and liabilities to gay and lesbian political credibility.suspect for really being gays who cannot accept their gayness. Transsexuals change their gender, get new birth certificates, legally marry as heterosexual are frowned upon, thus betraying their still struggling for equality, gay and lesbian family. However many stealth transsexuals ironically find more respect in the everyday world no longer hindered by the institutionalized gay and lesbian back biting. This is a call to heal the overall community of self loathing

Mocking transgender people for a laugh is done regularly by such gay editorial icons such as Michael Musto and in most media. They cover transgender people, but often in a deprecating and freakifying way. Reading between the lines transgender people are always misrepresented as mentally imbalanced gays who change their genders and then have no other recourse than to be professional sex workers, professional kooks and comical circus freaks.

The M2F transgender punchline is oversimplified by referring transgender women as transvestites, she males or simply "a man". This discounts the intense political, physical and emotional ordeal that most transgender women endure, especially those born in third world countries. F2Ms also endure an intense transformational odyssey. Recent tabloid fodder of the pregnant man was more so meant to titillate as opposed to educate the general public.

The irresponsible treatment of the media, including gay and lesbian press, contribute to the misconceptions of who transgender people are. The media, television and cinema at large remain guilty of stereotyping, particularly transgender women. The current popular depictions are: drag queens, prostitutes, or social outcasts to be ridiculed and pitied.

Shows such as "House", "Law and Oder" and HBO's "Bored to Death" have been chocked full of such negative depictions of transgender people. You will systematically see roles written for transgender actors playing prostitutes and freaky characters to serve as punchlines of antiquated jokes. This sets out a clear message to society that the only place for transgender people is the freak box, prostitution and the pseudo humanity of tragic clowns.

Many transgender men and women are intellectuals, parents, highly respected doctors and various esteemed professionals. But the image that the gay and lesbian community and the media at large is comfortable with is: that of the over the top freak, who though tolerated, deserves a chuckle, hence a little less humanity, credibility and respect than say the average gay person.

It is high time that the gay an lesbian community grow up to that next uncomfortable level and learn acceptance of its own members. Not every transgender person is a performer trying to be funny or freaky even if those who have changed their gender. A human being is not simply a set of genitals, they are body, heart and soul, deserving dignity and respect.

In essence, human rights belong to all humans and when one day marriage and all around human equality are a everyday reality, this blog with become one of historic observation. At this time when human dignities within the GLBT communities are challenged worldwide, equality and respect, even within our communities requires some evolutionary development.

Unfortunately many old fashioned beliefs still plague gay and lesbian people, though we now have some political capital and a definite influence in Hollywood, we have very little interest in transgender people unless they can serve as comic relief.

In the transgender community many people make a complex political and spiritual decision: To live in stealth mode:meaning to assimilate into straight society. For many transsexuals, especially F2M transsexuals, assimilating means leaving certain repressions of gay life behind in exchange with divorcing themselves from their past lives. This concept infuriates political activists who prefer that everyone stand up and be counted.

Other transgender people, for reasons of lack of education, cosmetic surgeries or proper psychotherapy can never assimilate convincingly. They do as best that they can often meaning being professionally transsexual and continuing on the performance or sex worker circuit. Unfortunately most gay, lesbian and transgender people grow up facing horrible repressions and must learn to overcome societal induced, internal self loathing.

Transgender people fall as third class citizens in the second class community of gay and lesbian people. If the gay and lesbian community truly want to include the transgender community as part of the greater whole, they must begin to accept and respect their bastard step children: The transgender community! This requires letting go of old stereotypes, honoring every one's unique differences. We must learn to stand strong as a whole community. We must not be lured into an alternative cast system reflecting the numerous bigotries of society.

It is Pride 2010, time for the gay and lesbian press and media to grow up. Discard the antiquated caricatures and tragic myths of what society has told us about transgender people. Get educated that we are all human beings who deserve respect and the right to be who we all are!

The hellacious group The family and certain Republican Senators took special interests in Uganda which was hard hit by the Aids epidemic. A number of American Conservatives have been instrumentle in a death penalty and the horrible oppression of gay people. "Strict measures are being taken in Uganda towards gay people. Condoms were being encouraged as most of the HIV was being passed because of heterosexual sex.

The various strands of Uganda's anti-gay movement — social conservatism, religious fervor and elements of America's culture wars — came together at a meeting at the country's largest university last month. On the agenda was the country's controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill, which, as currently proposed, would impose the death penalty on "aggravated homosexuality" — that is, an HIV-positive man caught having sex with another man.

First on the podium was David Bahati, the young parliamentarian who sponsored the bill. He received a warm reception from the audience of a few hundred people, many of them students. "They say that, if you are a homosexual, you are more likely to contract AIDS," Bahati said, to applause and laughter. "If you are a homo, you can reduce your lifespan by close to 20 years!" Bahati is a member of The Family, the fundamentalist Washington D.C. group that has been criticized for allegedly sending influential U.S. Senators and Representatives overseas to promote anti-gay and anti-abortion policies, according to Jeff Sharlett, a journalist who wrote a book on The Family. Bahati was followed at the podium by Pastor Stephen Langa, who made a Powerpoint presentation on "The Gay Agenda," a homosexual plot to take over the world. The presentation included pictures of gay pride parades and graphics that purported to show how past civilizations had declined because of the deterioration of traditional marriage. In March, Langa's Family Life Network held a three day conference on homosexuality taught by anti-gay activists Scott Lively, Don Schmierer, and Caleb Lee Brundidge, all three men prominent in the anti-gay movement in the U.S. Lively is the author of The Pink Swastika, a book that alleges links between Nazism and what he calls a gay agenda to take over the world. Schmierer is counselor with Exodus International, a U.S.-based ministry that seeks to use Christianity to overcome homosexual behavior. Brundidge is a therapist with the International Healing Foundation which also claims to be able to turn gay people straight

The Village Voice The Voice was launched by Ed Fancher, Dan Wolf, and Norman Mailer on October 26th 1955 in a 2 bedroom apartment in Grenwich Village. Early on The Voice was extremely derogatory to the gay community calling the stonewall Riots the Great Faggot Rebellion. Two early Voice reporters Smith and Truscott regularly used the words fag and dyke before they were commonly used in the gay community. The Gay Liberation Front was not allowed to mention the word gay or homosexual in the advertisements for gay dances because the words were considered derogatory. The newspaper changed their policy after the GLF petitioned the Voice

The Village Voice was once a paper that expressed progressive and enlightened spiritual and social revolution of the 1960's. It evolved a bit in the 1970s and then went down the tubes in the 1980s.

Now The Voice is a corporate rag. Dan Savage's articles are brilliant, health minded and informative. There are some occasional good reviews and political exposes, but the rest of the paper has devolved into a piece of crap! And Michael Musto! He's The Voice's screaming but unfunny gossip monger. He replaced Arthur Bell to exorcise The Voice of it's early, brutal mistreatment of GBLT people.

In their recent "Best of New York" they praised "Morning Joe: Joe Scarborough: the conservative douche bag with a former dead intern, his icy side kick Mika Brzezinski's boots and another fellow "Morning Joe" douche hole. Is this the best that The Voice can vomit up?

Secondly Michael Musto, the all time freakifier is what? Some "Expert" on Nightlife in New York just because he was alive in the 1970's? Please!!!! Musto is musty and an anachronism.

To his credit, in his archives, he raised political awareness of 80s Aids and homophobia in music such as with Buju Banton and other nightmares. Michael Musto is more lucky than actually talented. Musto's luckiest break was in 1984 when Arther Bell of "Bell Tells" The former gossip columnist for The Voice died of Aids and Musty replaced him. Musty was known in the club and performance scene. Supposedly, rumor has it, Musty wanted to make it as a singer and was known to be quite good, according to my resources. However those that do, do and those that cannot do write! So ya'll I'm writing:)

There's so many other wittier, wiser and infinitely more talented gay writers who really know what's happening in the New York and beyond. Musto is tired! He is the poor and uneducated man's Truman Capote minus any real gift for writing. He is a pop-trash-dribbler and really Perez Hilton can do this much better. Musty's "humor" is like some grade D Joan Rivers impersonator. He extended his early 80's 15 minutes by gloming onto the 90's club kids and appearing like a bad rash on Joan Rivers and other shows popping up again and again like New York's new bed bug infestation. His snark comes from the now frowned upon, nasty queen, mentalities straight out of " The Boys in the Band"

In his "Best of Clubs in NYC 2009" is full of names of Musty's posse: the same recycled celebu-nobodies and dated personalities all of which are now in their late 40s, 50s and beyond. These club "personalities" are actually a bunch of obnoxious and pretentious fools, fops and freaks. They are by no means cutting edge and have all been around since the year of the flood. They are all a reaffirmation that an endorsement of Michael Musto guarantees that in 20 years you will be in the exact place: No where else but back in his column and in some shit hole club acting 20-30 years younger than your actual age!

He occasionally he pulls up some new face but is an anti gay person's safe choice and reason to keep dehumanizing GBLT people. Musty always blathers on about some actual TV-Movie-Music celebrity to give his column supposed gossip legitimacy, then he names another one of his ancient, loser club personalities. He is banal plain and simple.

Most younger GBLTs are trying to find credibility and political strength by abandoning antiquated stereotypes. We do not believe in eating our own through back biting. Camp at our own expense is Dead! We lead by example, have normal lives and want our equal rights. Once upon a time "Better Blatant than Latent" worked, but in our evolution we now lead by example and maybe for some people sane is boring. But, if we want credibility we must get beyond being caricatured as circus freaks, sexually compulsive hedonists and pathetic creatures with no ability to be community leaders, responsible parents or committed married people.

We realize that acting the fool, the sleaze or the freak does nothing to further marriage equality and parental rights. We have gratefully evolved beyond acting freaky because we had no other options. Once upon a time GBLT people were victims of greater oppressions but the time has come to grow up. While some of us are more colorful and nonconformist than others, Most of us assimilate. Many straight men have gay male buddies and straight women have gay women friends and so on. People do not see us as frightening or all that different, but as human beings deserving our rights to be happy and have exactly what everyone else has.

There are some GBLT people who need to be terminally unique, "too special" to fit in. But many younger GBLT people assimilate. We do not have to lives lives in bars, smothering our unhappy oppression in drugs, sex and booze. We have been afforded this right by people who were as daring as they had to be. Now we deserve more and we no longer have to only exist under a ghetto mindset. Nowadays we are as indistinguishable as any other person in our community.

In years passed, gay men like Michael Musto had no other recourse than to become parodies of themselves as lonely men, tortured by age and lack of love. Such men were resigned to bitter humor known as camp. Those days are over, GBLT people will not settle for miserable lives whose emptiness can only be filled with style and superficial frivolities. Young GBLT people want substance, not placation!

The transgender people Musty writes about are always the plastic surgery disasters and Ho's which further galvanizes the myth that all transsexuals are nothing more than freaky hos deserving to be nothing more than punchlines. Old school fags and dykes like Musty see trannys as delusional gay men who just can't accept being men. They do not acknowledge tg people's actual gender identity. Not all the men and women who love trannys are gay or delusional, it's way more complex than that.

Musty dismisses the fact that gender identity and sexual preference are two different issues. So Musty keeps the ignorant readers ignorant. He keeps trannys in their designated place: the shittiest rung of the queer hierarchy. and we all know how prostitution serves biological women. It serves them with abuse, STDs and slow suicide. So trannys wake up, Musty is Not your Friend!

Mustie does serve a purpose: He keeps the GBLT communities seem scary and not fit to be members of actual communities.The Voice has made and continues to make a fortune off of tons of weekly transsexual prostitution ads. Perhaps freakifying trannys has paid Musty's salary and the salaries of many Voice writers, the proof is in their back pages. Also Mustie reinforces stereotypes about gay men and lesbians, the freakier and more lurid the better. One can be profound without writing at the expense of the entire GBLT population. We have political leaders and this column keeps the confused folk filled with unsavory misconceptions of who we all are.

The dizzy, vapid and fagonoxious Michael Musto typifies the bitter, old gay man who passes off bitchiness as humor. He certainly was never a gorgeous gay man so the next best thing is to be as acidic as possible since any attention is better than no attention at all. Gossip has been called a polite form of assassination.

I love my boy Keith Olbermann but I'm over seeing Musty's rubber, homely, schmuck face being all lame assed on Countdown. Musty's just not funny, he's pathetic. The poor cow has had his day it's time for The Voice to dig a ditch and bury the bitch! The actual Best of The Voice is that it makes a wonderful lining of my cat litter pan!

Of course they are now claiming that Michael Jackson's death was a homicide but let's get real. Michael Jackson was very maladjusted. His obsession with children though Peter Pan-like was dubious. When a person possesses a great deal of wealth and personal power people around them rely upon their money. In many cases the sycophants around the sacrificial cash cow, turn a blind eye to things like possible child molestation and drug abuse.

Though Michael Jackson was allegedly found innocent the second time around his molestation charge issues, the jury members spoke out afterward that they were not sure that he indeed did not molest the child. They did claim that the case in the trial was too weak to prove a solid verdict. Secondly some members were absolutely convinced that he did molest the boy while the case was too disheveled to form a conviction. The trial was a bizarre media circus. One faithful, if not delusional fan released doves because she could not cope with her idol maybe, possibly, being a child molester. child molesters are sick, but in America reality is not always a popular concept. When you have a lot of money, you can spin a situation anyway that you wish. And Michael was big on living his life upon wish-craft, never-never land, whimsical childlike let's pretend. Incidentally child molesters are mentally ill and cannot see how interacting sexually with a child is wrong. Experts claim that molesters are emotionally stunted from childhood traumas and unable to relate to adults. Hello!!!

The first alleged, molestation victim had been paid a hefty settlement from Michael Jackson. Michael's behavior with his own children was questionable and eccentric. Also Hello: When a person needs a surgical sedative to simply sleep: We're talking the half passed dead sedatives used to knock people out for surgeries, that's a drug problem! And Hello: How can a person with a drug problem make a responsible parent?

The post-rigamortis media canonization of Michael Jackson as spun by his sleaze bag family, record companies and his father who sold his child away to the Gods of show business was gouache, tacky and fucking tasteless. Remember his father, Joe Jackson's plugging his new record company at Michael's post death press conference? Fucking tacky as the day is long, honey!

Secondly if his whack family really gave a shit about Michael why did they not get him help, counseling and some sort of rehab? The answer is simple. They are tacky people who lived off of their drugged up, emotionally fucked up golden goose. "This is It" is being pushed out as a media event by former concert promoters who lost their investment when Michael was basically overdosed with surgical sedatives. "This is It" is their way of making good on their economic investment by reanimating the corpse of a brilliant but terribly troubled man. Michael was socially maladjusted and emotionally arrested from the traumas of his insane childhood. Michael Jackson was also suffering from substance abuse problems: using anesthesia to get a good night's sleep is a drug problem!

Did you ever talk with people who underwent numerous surgeries? In most cases surgical anesthesia is risky and a delicate process. This is why a special anesthesiologist is hired to sedate a patient before surgeries. I don't know about you, but many people that I've known speak of how the anesthesia messes them up after wards, especially when sedated for hours long procedures. Now just imagine doing that shit every night just to knock your ass out and get some rest. that is Fucked up!

There are legitimate sleep clinics that help people with sleeping disorders like Michael Jackson had. Concert promoters hiring some dicey "doctor feel good" to knock Michael out in order to get a good night's work out of him is some creepy shit! Had Michael Jackson's " loving" family really given a fuck, they would have intervened or hired an intervention specialist to check his ass into a sleep disorder treatment clinic. However, the Jackson family would have to be emotionally and spiritually "all there" to make such an educated call and obviously they are troubled with questionable agendas. The Jacksons and his public relations machine turned his funeral into a colossal media spin, photo op. This greased the wheels for Michael Jackson's postmortem record-merchandising frenzy. It was smart and very calculated making Michael Jackson worth more dead than alive. This is obvious to anyone who is not some fanatic unable to bear to have their hero's legacy questioned, maybe Michael Jackson is all they have?.

Michael Jackson was a race horse being run to death by handlers with agendas to extract every penny that they could from him. Michael Jackson was a a talented, exploited child, adult child and now an exploited corpse. The people around Michael: family, promoters and staff were a bunch of Hos who used him as a golden goose being tweaked to keep laying those golden, mutha fuck'n eggs.

There is nothing loving or considerate about the way Michael Jackson has been handled by those around him including his family.. They encouraged a mentally unstable person to keep generating that cash even if it killed him and it killed him. Michael Jackson's life mirrors the lives of Judy Garland, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe. They are all American legends, prisoners of fame, existing as human commodities: slave driven by a demanding, unrelenting management and public. They were slathered in substances, patronized by sycophants surviving off of their tortured existences until they dropped dead, in one drug related way or another. And they all continue to be slaughtered cash cows as their corpses wither to ashes. RIP Michael Jackson, there is hopefully some peace where you, Marilyn, Elvis and Judy are now.

Queers Who Play into Right Wing Hate Fodder Part One

Recently Edmund White publicly skewered Gore Vidal in a Salon.com interview. Uneducated quasi literate Americans love a good old, gay-bitch mud fight because they see queers as lowly minstrel shows. Even the most well meaning, queer eye folks out there can be as patronizing as shit when it comes to reinforcing and believing old school queer stereotypes. Maury Povich and Jerry Springer are among the worst recyclers of queer and transgender minstrel. In fact many queer gossip columnist play the old school bitch queen role and keep the old shit a cycling!

Lots of queer media boxes up those GBLT stereotypes that are supposed to be pushed our ways as "queer culture". I'm say'n, it's tired shit and we need healthier and new images. I don't know about you but I'm tired of seeing stereotyped, old school lame assed dyke characters, fey queer boys and transsexual prostitute characters on TV. These stereotypes reflect some real people but so many are Not be represented.

What about healthy unaffected GLBT characters such as a for real, diverse group of people? I Love Sister, Actress LaVerne Cox. Why cast her always as a ho? Of course The Village Voice and New York Press are almost fully supported by ho ads, particularly tranny ho ads. but again they are only one small portion of that population!

Why not cast sister LaVerne Cox as an everyday female, or whre she's a doctor, an everyday woman? If you gonna make her a Ho make her a generic female ho, she does not look in any way shape or form as a "man". Transgender people are more than some genitals, they are human beings with individual characteristics as us African appearing people are more than just a skin tone or complexion.

I saw LaVerne Cox on "Law and Order" and "Bored to Death" Cox dammed bitches! You writing only roles for Miss LaVerne play'n trans-ho's. Come on ya'll! This ebony beauty is far more talented then some lame assed casting director with myopia putting her in trans only roles. She's a woman be it of trans experience and actors act. A good actor should be able to play any person-gender etc.!!

We often see reckless promiscuity as a symptom of self loathing only serving to destroy our capacity to have authentic intimacy. We are conscious to anything that can discredit our rights to marry and raise families. If we act like old school stereotypes we become the reason for uneducated people to see us as legitimately incredible.

Many of us gay women can be promiscuous as well, but at the end of the day promiscuity is the by product (no pun intended) of internal self loathing and sex addiction. Never mind Aids, there are many other nastier STD's, and even with new vaccines, like bedbugs, STD's evolve and become resistant to medications and vaccines, so we all had better pull our collective shit together and realize this truth: If you are sexually active you Must keep practicing safe sex!

Let's be honest, promiscuity and excesses have been the main culprit of a gay holocaust called the Aids epidemic that annihilated a huge chunk of the gay male populations in the 1980's. Most of these men came of age during the 1960's and 70's while unbeknown to themselves, sexually active, particularly anal receptive gay men were getting infected. The silent killer also began claiming the lives of bisexuals, gay, straight, transgender sex workers and hemophiliacs, intravenous drug users worldwide.

Our communities became galvanized to fight Aids and save the lives of the victims. Truthfully, promiscuity and unprotected sex contributed to many deaths. So when old school douche bags like Edmund White praise promiscuity they green light young GB LT and other sexually active people to indulge even more. Sexual and drug addicts, Addiction is an illness and its own deadly disease contributes till today to these infections. The saddest victims were and still are the men and women who were partners of people who had unprotected sex or used i.v. drugs. Most tragic victims historically were the people who received tainted blood transfusions from volunteers doing a good deed by donating blood. Even more tragic are the worldwide children born infected to Aids patients.

The GLBT communities and our allies were and still are united in finding an Aids cure since we hit the mid-late 1980's. Condoms became a reliable stock and product. Trojan commercials began to hit the air. The once humorous concept of bagging it became a smart and educated choice, it still should be and must be!

The most tragic aspect of all of this is along came a 90's cockiness(again no pun intended) of young GLBT folks who decide in spite of themselves to go bag less and prove a point. This evolved into the bug chasers and gift givers. "Gift" givers? Such a "gift" is actually a polite word for assassination! Bug Chasers are in reality mentally disturbed people who are so out of touch with their suicidal wishes. Bug chasers and "gift" givers are demented plain and simple. Anyone who has watched a person die or suffer from this horrible disease would Never endorse such asinine, assassination!

It is time for the GLBT community to grow the fuck up and get really wise! That is it's your own business if you are sexually active and with who. However if you are stupid enough to have unprotected sex with strangers then you are falling into the arms of horrible illness, enslavement to the pharmaceutical companies who view you as a demographic for profits. If you want to be the ho to the big-pharmaceutical, pimp daddy then act the fool and kill and be killed. If you are infected then Be fucking Responsible, get health care and Bag your stuff. Do not assassinate others because you are ill. Also taking care of yourself and not having unprotected sex will keep you healthier in the long run as you won't be mixing up your viral load.

For most of us, Labor Day means backyard barbecues, weekend sales, and at last carefree day before school starts. But the laid-back holiday has some seriously sad history, including chaos, riots, and even
death. Let us explain.

A tragic tale, Back in the days of the Industrial Revolution, workers were expected to put in 12-hour days, seven days a week (yes, including kids).

Already sounds awful, right? It gets worse. In Pullman, Illinois, a company town that employed and housed workers to build posh railway cars, times had gotten tough. In response, George Pullman cut jobs and wages. It was 1893. Thousands of workers walked off their jobs in protest, demanding higher salaries and lower rents. Other unions joined, refusing to work the Pullman cars, turning the small-town
fracas into a national fury.

With mail cars backing up, and riots worrying train execs, President Grover Cleveland stepped in. He declared the strike illegal and sent
12,000 troops to break the strike. Cue brutal protests and bloodshed. The strike was broken, but so was the spirit of the workers. To reach out to the labor movement, Congress rushed the national holiday into
law. The bad will resulted in Cleveland losing re-election. But the day off for hot dogs endures.

What also endures are proper work shifts: a 40 hr work week, workers rights, disability, OSHA and
if a worker is injured on the job, their employer must cover their medical bills.

Also irresponsible employers who knowingly
endanger their workers are held accountable. Children are not allowed to be hired and certain regulations that protect workers from slave labor
are in place. Plus a minimum wage is now in place, paid l;eaves, social security and all worker rights. Even non union members owe something to
America's Labor movement.

Without Unions workers injured on their jobs have no recourse. Slave shops would be operating with inhumane work environments. Let us never forget

There is a buzz phrase coming from tea baggers, birthers, deathers and right wing people who are raising a ruckus at Town Halls dealing with President OBama's Health Care Reform. I will now translate what people mean when they say "I want my country back".

"I Want My Country Back" means:

1) All immigrants from Mexico, Latin America, Central American Countries, Asian countries should be deported immediately!

2) Black people can remain athletes and musical entertainers. They cannot be presidents or in any position of political power. Once that they are done playing their professional sports and entertaining us with music and dancing, they must go home to their neighborhoods and not return to all white places until they come to clean, cook, entertain or play sports.

3) Black entertainers can only perform jazz, blues, pop and easy listening R & B, Motown hits and early 70's R&B. Hip Hop will be banned.

4) All none English speaking people should be placed in language assimilation camps until they speak English.

5) All movies, television and Broadway shows should have 99% Caucasian casts and White Christian American themes. Black and of color people should be reserved for token roles that reinforce racial and ethnic stereotypes. Caricatured blacks, Asians and other minorities should be encouraged in all movies, television and Broadway shows.

6) Gay people must go back into their closets or else be sent to assimilation camps to be reprogrammed back into white, Christian, heterosexual society.

7) All Gay, Lesbian and transgender people who have children will have their children placed in new foster homes of proper white, fundamentalist Christian familes. Children of mixed races will be appropriately placed in fundamentalist Christian homes of their none white heritage race.

8) Racial profiling will be made legal and encouraged.

9) Hate crimes laws will be reversed.

10) Gay bashing, non Christian grave and temple desecration and lynching will be made legal and encouraged.

11) Politically correct terms will be made illegal. Offensive Racial and sexual epithets will be encouraged.

12) Anti Semitism will be encouraged and made legal.

13) Abortion will be made illegal except for wealthy women who can discretely arrange them with their private physicians for a "DnC" meaning dusting and cleaning. DnC's will be paid for by top insurance companies. DnC is a code word for abortion rights for privileged white women. Poor women can arrange back alley abortions at their own risks. However if they are discovered they and their abortionists will be sentenced to immediate execution.

14) Racial segregation will become a new law. White children will get better educations in general, especially if they are wealthy. Middleclass white students will receive mediocre educations with no art history, music clubs or classes. Poor whites will receive little education and be sent to work by age 12. Creationism will be the only history and science allowed to be taught in schools.The newest and best books will be available in order of income to white children.

15) Child labor laws will be revered. Poor children will be encouraged to work at their earliest possible age with no legalized work shifts.

16) Women and African Americans will lose voter rights.

17) Women's salaries will be reversed to pre 1973 inequality. Girls will be taught in the virtues of being home makers.

18) Non white members of the Supreme Court and female justices will be fired and replaced by white evangelical Christian male justices.

19) America will then be back to the country that all tea baggers, birthers, deathers, white Christian conservatives and right wingnuts want. These are the people that hate President OBama's election. For such people it simply feels wrong to have a black man in the white house, they cannot wrap their head's around the concept of a black man who is educated.

Even though American once belonged to Native American Indians, the America that most uneducated white Christian Conservatives want back is a White Evangelical Christian America. Can they "have their country back"? Thank God this will be very unlikely as American will continue to evolve as a nation of freedom of speech, religious freedom and a land where human rights will prevail. In 2042 Caucasian people will become a minority, however American will become a nation of multi-cultural and multiracial people.

Educated Americans will continue to fight for the greater humanitarian good of our country. At the end of the day America will continue to grow as a wonderful country based upon inclusion and equality. One day we will look back at these town halls and the disruptive, misinformed people "who want their country back". They are the shameful remnants of an America that was once was unenlightened about racial, religious and gender equality.

The real issue here is that the major media outlets are owned by corporations who do not have progressive agendas. This means their job is to fuck over human rights, good health care and education and opportunity for the average American and the poor Americans. Their job is to turn America into a third world country where there exists only filthy rich and very poor. Their jobs are to see to it that the very rich get the best health care, education and opportunities and privileges. Their job is to keep average Americans ignorant, fearful and disenfranchised.

The right wing media is designed to promote and further the causes of big corporations and the GOP agenda. They are married to insurance companies, so you will not hear anything good about President OBama's health care reform. You will ultimately not hear anything that promotes the real quality of life for average Americans and especially the poor.

Mrs. Allen Greenspan:Andrea Mitchell, Contessa Brewer, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brezinski, Alex Witt, Michelle Bernard, Contessa Brewer, Melissa Francis and Chris Matthews are all here to degrade the positive things that President Obama does. Their job is to look pretty, promote the negativity towards President OBama's Change and help the GOP spokesperson: Rush Limbaugh's wish come true. They do this by attaching unfair and unreasonable expectations upon President OBama and are ready to push him and his administration off a cliff any chance they get. These "journalists" gave Bush a soft and easy ride and practically blew him with every promotional twist until W was such an International embarrassment that they could no longer prop up.

Also these"journalists" have also done their share to downgrade the recent victory of President Bill Clinton and how his diplomacy freed journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling from North Korea. The above named "journalists" are complete and utter whores for the right. If a person is truly progressive or heaven forbid a Democrat these scumbags will figure out a way to do their master's bidding by repeating Republican talking points, sensationalizing and replaying anti- Democratic and anti-OBama right talking points.

Plain and simple just tune into these media whores. watch and listen, you'll get the feeling that some one's getting a big Christmas bonus for being the Do-boys and the Do-girls for corporate greed bags and GOP scum buckets. Chris Matthews Right Wing Tool?

I really try to like Chris Matthews of MSNBC's Hardball, but he always slinks back into being a republican tool.

He really should rename his show Blowhard-ball as he pitches the softest of balls to hard right creeps. It took Chris forever to finally admit that W was as horrible a leader as he was. Chris kept pitching those softballs never the less. Chris is an ass kisser and just as queer for Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan: the same man who named names and sucked McCarthy dick during one of our nation's most shameful eras.

Reagan who could never pronounce the word AIDS, while gays, iv drug users and hemophiliacs were dropping like flies, until shamed by Elizabeth Taylor. Reagan the man that ripped the solar panels off he White house that the visionary Jimmy Carter had installed. Reagan who ushered in the 80's age of corporate greed while closing half way houses and releasing thousands of mentally ill people into the streets, most of whom got off medications and became a tragic part of urban street color. This was especially true in New York City which became a bit of a lunatic asylum. Mayor Ed Koch had forcibly picked up mentally ill homeless people from the streets, park benches, Penn Station, Grand Central Station and Port Authority where many squatted.

So Chris Mathews is an ass kisser. The kind of guy who plays it all safe and knows how to keep a fire burning while dragging out and giving more than plenty of air time to right wing nuts. Chris does not have to worry, he's rich, well paid and has the best health care that any right wing tool can buy. The rest of poor Americans can simply eat cake and die of poor health care.

GOP, Rush Limbaugh,Glen Beck, Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin and birthers are the voice of ignorance and racist Americans. They are part of many delusional people who are given a media soap box to stoke the fires of hatred. Just think of Jean Schmidt's insanity and Virginia Foxx who called Mathew Shepherd's torture killing a hoax and not a hate crime.

The right wing is getting nuttier and more absurd, it's like watching a train wreck. They are big on homophobia and racism. They basically serve corporate American and the very rich. Keeping the poor uneducated, stupid and consumers with little empowerment.

How would the civil rights movement have ever happened if lunatics like these people were running things? Even Bobby Jindal took that big check for New Orleans. He's really a white evangelical trapped in what appears to be some East Indian dude's body.

Then we have have Ron Christie who to me seems like a prissy, gay white dude, though he's African American. His snotty defense of all things white and Republican makes me think he suffers internal Xenophobia and homophobia. I want to bitch slap him and say"Grrrrl, drop the shit, you ain't Caucasian but you sure are gay as old Paris"! Joe Watkins has a permanently dazed expression as though he were possessed by the spirit of an old, white supremacist man on a manic-psychotic upswing. Alan Keyes has that same bat shit nuts look, though he's obviously more delusional.

Armstrong Williams also suffers from eternal uncle Tom syndrome. Their jobs are to do anything to propagate all things GOP, designed to protect the complexion of hate, hypocrisy and division. They have sold their souls in doing so, however they are well paid and well insured unlike most Americans and especially most African Americans .

The bottom line here is that the GOP has come out as a party dedicated to stoking the fires of hatred and division. They are encouraging the sentiment that Caucasian men are no longer in the privileged class. The bottom line is that many people cannot believe that there is a very brilliant African American man in the white House. They cannot cope with the browning of America and the inevitable multi-colored and multi-cultural turn of America.

Perpetuating lies and acting stupid is not an American value.

Apparently many people get rejected from E Harmony. The commercials are curious. One guy whose mom told him to join and he met the love of his life looks as if he's a stalker. His naturally terse, bug eyed look and sour expression make him fall the wrong side of attractive. Every time I watch the commercial I think:" Hmmm, I'll bet in about a year or so we'll hear that guy in assaulting his wife after experiencing obsessive mania. She will then file a court order of protection against him and sue eHarmonony for not giving her a fairytale ending."

It has been brought to my attention that eHarmony Founder is an Evangelical Christian Dr Neil Clark Warren and has ties with the influential religious conservatives was sued and forced to create a gay dating site after excluding gays.

I know a woman who met a very Christian man and got married. They now belong to a church that has lock ins during their Sunday services. I watch MSNBC a lot and Friday afternoon, July 25, 2009 Texas Oreo Deluxe:News actress Tamron Hall and MSNBC news male spokes-model: David Schuster had a huge laugh at the expense of Oregon's Transgender Mayor Stu Rasmussen. Brenda Sturdevent filed a complaint against the nation's only TG mayor for her choice of clothing as risque and inappropriate. Well Tamron laughed her ass off with Schuster. She mis-identified Mayor Rasmussen, a transgender "man" who's now a woman and as "he" while the fellow MSNBC douchebag: Schuster misidentified Mayor Rasmussen as a transvestite. Oreo-Tamron giggled:"Oh no, he's a woman now and he's transgender" she kept referring to Rasmussen in the wrong pronoun as "he". While the pregnant transgender man was appropriate terminology, Mayor Rasmussen is no longer a man or a he!

Obviously for Tamron coming from Texas, being a very backward state, her reaction is typical as was Schuster's frat boy stupidity. As a dyke activist, I find their unprofessional behavior appalling. However this is what happens when a station gives shows to news actresses and male spokes-models who lack education. Is MSNBC turning into the Howard Stern show or Maury, another mega douche-bag?

I want Every last GBLT person to bitch slap down Tamron Hall and David Schuster, get these bitches educational training. Research shows that the brains of transgender people are wired to identify their internally designated gender as being the opposite gender of their physical bodies. Mayor Rasmussen does not appear the most feminine looking woman, however she's credible enough to have been elected as mayor, let's give this lady some respect! People, we need some education, enlightenment and compassion here. Sister Tamron would not be all too happy if she were mocked with a racially degrading charicature, the way she charicatured Mayor Stu Rasmussen.

While I am at it, the media at large is at fault, this also includes fellow gays in the media! They now have some clout but many could care less about the T groups in the GBLT family. Many gays see transwomen as their court jesters and mascots. The media needs an eye adjustment as to the way that they portray particularly the T group.

The Village Voice's Gay Pride issue was shameful! It had no good coverage of educated transgender issues, it did have a huge whore display in their classifieds. The Voice survives largely on the transgender prostitutes who buy up thousands of dollars in The Village Voice's weekly advertising. If you don't believe me just look at all the tranny prostitutes in their back pages. Figure that each ad must cost about 200.00 bucks, $200.00 here, $200.00 there, it all ads up! It serves such rags to maintain the status quote, it certainly pays them well. Perhaps featuring educated, politically aware transgender women would humanize them beyond being entertaining, funny and easier to exploit?

So the Village Voice portrays 1970's nostalgic style queer-camp as served by antiquated, snarky queen with a typewriter: Musty Michael. Michael Musto is also a semi-regular on MSNBC's Countdown. Musty covers bitchy celebrity periodical shit while tossing in backhanded compliments about silicone tragic, trannys and tranny prostitutes. Musty is highly overrated and gets paid to reinforce antiquated queer stereotypes. Unlike Dan Savage who is actually brilliant, Musty is a safe if not stale choice. Tabloid "journalism" keeps queers permanently lampooned as camp and comical tragedians. And this system of mockery keeps trannys the new bottom rung on the queer ladder with us dykes being on top, sorry boys your second most accepted in the most credible department! Media is afraid of masculine, everyday gay men, though it's beginning to inch some in.

Depicting transgender women as pathetic cartoons is typical. The media loves to confuse all transwomen with drag queens and crossdressers. In fact the least educated transwomen are confused how to identify themselves, even when they are completely female identified. Though transexuals, drag queens, crossdressers and gender ambivalent people are all considered transgender: (a political umbrella term). But with sea creatures: sponges, sharks and jelly fish, all are separate sea life forms. Politically convenient as one unifying term is, many lay-people cannot distinguish these variations within the transgender realm.

There's a much different life situation happening between a transexual, a drag queen and a straight crossdresser. All transgender women are not workin it for a laugh, but apparently the media is fond of this notion. Professor Jennifer Linney Boylan and Dr. Marci Bowers are no Amanda Lepore though Amanda makes for lurid tabloid fodder, it's time for a change of focus!

The media had better get its collective shit together and show some Respect. Until then Razoretta says "Let's give those media bitches hell!" Email, call and tell MSNBC to have Tamron Hall and David Schuster apologize for how they mocked Mayor Rasmussen.
